Your vibrant work caught my attention immediately. Your use of neon colors brings a positive energy to your pieces. What message are you trying to communicate through your art?
The preferred motif of my work is people. Strictly speaking, I am interested in their emotions, expressing them through contrasting colors, and occasionally blurring the lines between reality and fiction. I am of the opinion that painting lives through vivid colours, stimulating aesthetical feelings and emotions in the observer. Through the combination of cool tones and intensive neon colours, I transport my audience into a world of fantasy.
What inspires you to create? Is it a photo, an emotion, or maybe particular people?
Emotions definitely inspire me.
The contrast between your subject with energizing colors is very powerful. How you choose your subject matter?
My paintings are often linked to my own experiences and emotions. It is the art of photography that inspires me. I’m looking for certain facial expressions that I can later transfer to the canvas. The rest is just happening spontaneously.
You often use acrylics in your work. Is that your preferred medium? Are there any mediums that you find challenging, or would like to try?
It is easier to bring out the color contrast I am looking for with acrylics. In the future, I would like to achieve similar effects with oil paints.
What is next for you? Do you have any upcoming shows or projects you are excited about?
I’m planning to create more paintings with the ‘pouring glasses’ motif. I have just come back from art fair in Munich and the visitors were crazy about the “pouring glasses.” 🙂
My works have been shown several times on local and regional exhibitions in Poland and Germany. In terms of next exhibitions, I’d like to show my art in Warsaw during the summer and in autumn I’m participating in the Affordable Art Fair in Hamburg. I am also receiving many requests to exhibit in other countries and look forward to start new projects there as well.
